STUDENT OF THE MONTH
FACULTY OF THE MONTH
A senior Health Science major is
proving that success in public health
starts with balance. Involved in cross
country, track, the Public Health Club,
and the Pre-PA Club, Molly Gipson has
built a college experience centered on
discipline and time management. After
beginning as a biology major, she realized
Health Science better aligned with her
career goals while allowing her to
succeed
both
academically
and
athletically.
Early in her college career, structured
study hall hours helped her develop a
routine that she continues to rely on
today.
Daily trips to the library and
consistent habits have allowed her to
keep up with increasingly challenging
coursework. Looking ahead, she plans to
attend the Royal College of Surgeons in
Ireland for medical school, continuing her
path in the health field.
Her experience as a student-athlete
has also taught her the importance of
mental well-being. While studying for
the MCAT, she faced burnout and took a

returning to have one of her best seasons.
She emphasizes the value of listening to

body,
managing
stress
and
remembering that success is not defined
by a single outcome, but by resilience
and balance over time.
Dr. Jeffrey Allen is celebrating his

educator, he transitioned into higher
education after first pursuing nursing
and public health.
Since joining the SBU community in
2020, Allen says he has embraced the
